Smile was a fun piece to play, with interesting harmonies. I had a mixed (in age and skill level) group working on it, but other than having them go over the keys used and meters, said nothing. Two of them kept looking at me with twinkles in their eyes but held their peace. The harmonies, effects, were really exciting. Finally one of the students said is this really Charlie Chaplin? Yup?. Wow. He was really ahead of his time. So much to learn about in a fun piece.
