Arranger Douglas B. Moore was drawn to this piece by the Jascha Heifetz arrangement for violin and piano, and because of the chord progression in the last 4 bars.
Best for a talented cello quartet, as most parts are in treble clef and difficult.
This was performed by Yo-Yo Ma and 3 students from Tanglewood on Wynton Marsalis’s 1995 video “Tackling the Monster”.
